Rant From A Reader

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Here's a little something I received in my inbox this morning.

Hey Ratchet-

I bought a part over the weekend on eBay from q**k***es. The listing basically says: here is the part in great shape any questions please ask thank you. See my other items. Then the seller invoices me with this!

Obviously your seller is an asshole. Whether some con artist buyer has caused him to act this way is unknown. I've seen the auction to verify the listing and your description is accurate. Though your used part didn't specify used in the listings so maybe it won't be full of scratches and sticker wear. By the way, I hope you didn't pay for insurance. Who in the hell charges $3.45 for insurance on a $15 purchase? I would hate the part about being threated with feedback before you've even paid for the damn thing.

Another Bigger Reason the Thieving Couple Pisses Me Off

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Please read previous post first, or this one will make no sense!
For Christmas, I bought Ratchet one of those 25th Anniversary Prime's. I bought mine from a gentleman in New York. I've bought a couple of reissues for him from the same seller. So, around the beginning of the year we were looking around to purchase several 25th Anniversary Prime's to hold back until the release of Transformers 2. I didn't understand how some seller's could afford to let them go for $50! Not really any of my business either, but I was surprised. Then, my sister called from Chicago about a month ago and she had found several at a store for $20 each. Of course, she bought them all. But back to the original point. I didn't understand when they were first released how this one seller could let them go for $50. Again, it wasn't any of my business.

Then cut to me being in complete shock about learning about the thieving couple. I was going through is feedback and what do you know!?! He was the seller that was letting the 25th Anniv. Prime's go for $50. I completely understand it now! The fact that they were stolen had never crossed my mind! I'm not sure how I was that naive - but I was. I once had a guy try to sell me a ton of G1's for $100. I mean literally like over 200 figures plus about 30 reissues still sealed. He had absolutely no clue what they were at all. I asked him how he got them and he had no explanation. He just wanted to get rid of them fast. The big flashing lights went off then - and we didn't buy them.
Here are a couple of quick links to get you up to date on the story without having to read the rant in the previous post! Also, as of 3:00 pm EST yesterday, their account finally went NARU!

Toy Seller on Ebay / Dr. Phil Drama

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Have you heard about the married couple of that went on Dr. Phil in November to confess their shoplifting "habit"? If will be searching for video from the show later. Anyway, the idiots, Laura and Matthew Eaton let the Dr. Phil show tape them as they went on a shoplifting spree!!! During this videotaped spree the husband allegedly stole "$700 worth of mostly Legos". Well guess what?!? The dumb ass sells Legos on Ebay. Click here to check out their account before it gets shut down! Click here or here to get more of the big story on this brilliant toy dealer! I have a feeling their account will be gone by the end of the day - so here are some screen shots! The last pic is of the happy couple themselves! Click on the pics to make them bigger!
UPDATE: Matthew's middle name is Allen. They were on Dr. Phil as Laura and Allen. They have kids. They use their kids as decoys while they are shoplifting. Click here for a clip of their chaos!
UPDATE 2: There's more!!! Click here.
This is just too much for me today! I love a little action during the day! I do however feel sorry for their kids, the stores they stole from, and the innocent people who just wanted to buy Legos!

Man Gets Arrested Speeding Home To Place Bid on Ebay

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

On Tuesday, a man from Fall City, Washington was arrested after being clocked driving 110 mph. James Garrett must have thought the trooper would be more understanding when he informed the cop that he was speeding home to place a bid on Ebay! Garrett was arrested and charged with reckless driving.

Moral of the story: Place your bids early!

Where are all of the toys?

Monday, February 23, 2009

I've gotten several messages asking what happened to all of my toys. So here's the deal. If you're looking for my Ebay listings click here. If you're looking for Transformers or GI Joe's that aren't on Ebay go all the way down to the bottom of the screen to that contact us form or feel free to email me at ratchet@www.iamratchet.com or email me at morgancolyer@aol.com .

There is a blogger issue/ gadgets glitch that is not letting me post my listed items onto the site. So we've been working on a couple of things and hopefully they should be back on here by the end of the week! Furthermore, I will be separated from my toys for the first week of March (and unable to ship). So, look for new toys to go up on the 1st of March. Until then, yes we still have inventory!
